Facing the possibility of alcoholism or other drug abuse in yourself or someone you love can be extremely difficult. The negative consequences of drug and alcohol abuse can affect all aspects of life, damaging physical health, job functioning, relationships, and emotional well-being. Family members often hide or deny the impact, or become physically and emotionally drained.

However, once the problem is acknowledged, positive changes can begin to occur. Appropriate intervention lessens stress and helps everyone involved find healthier options to improve their lives.
